Changing it up AGAIN this week. Yes, I know I'm going crazy, but I really liked this vintage travel themed wedding rehearsal submitted to me by Ashley Paige Photography. I like that is was super cute, and in the vintage style you like so much. I also liked that there were TONS of centerpiece ideas in this dinner, and that you could absolutely steal them for a wedding shower or use them in a rehearsal dinner. Event planner, Katie Rebecca Events, wrote a wonderful description that doesn't miss a detail, so I'll let you read more about the style elements and inspiration below.
I had the honor of putting this event together for the gorgeous bride and groom Sariah and Joel and I pulled out all the stops that I could.
The Rustic Wine & Cheese Cocktail Hour Lounge
For the cocktail hour we created a cozy lounge that invited guests to snuggle up and soak up all that Holman Ranch has to give. The couple brought hay bales for guests to sit on and the bride's father handmade amazing crate tables which really warmed up the space and made it feel like home. Brie, baguette and fruit were paired with wine for guests to enjoy and pillows and blankets were added to lounge.
The Intimate Picnic Dinner
Dinner was for 80 guests in the rose patio at Holman Ranch. We made sure to keep all the gates closed so it was a surprise for anyone who might have walked by. Our whole concept was a romantic intimate picnic dinner and lounge. The couple was planning a travel themed wedding so we wanted to incorporate as many personal touches as we could that told the story of them. We started planning the dinner table themes right away and we knew we wanted them to be different.
The Vintage Travel Themed Centerpieces
With 9 tables we created 4 different themes and it really added that extra something to the already beautiful space. I had an incredible assistant for the day that truly helped make the vision come to life as she took full charge of getting the florals from vision to table top. Full leafy garlands to perfect wildflowers, Michelle of Unveiled Grace, filled the tables with blooms and candles. For the decor we picked and created trinkets from the couples favorite places like Paris and made a table runner out of a world map. Vintage books and florals in the silver and copper compote bowls arranged by the lovely Michelle kept everything romantic, warm and cozy. Tall vintage bottles added the perfect balance between the tables with the garlands and decor. One of our favorite dining area surprises was a hanging wine bottle chandelier that greeted everyone as they walked through the gates.
A Reclaimed Indian Fruit Cart Dessert Display
For dessert I knew we needed to pull out all the stops. Dessert is a big deal to this couple and the bride's favorite is Magnolia Bakery's Banana Pudding so like any good planner would do I surprised her with her own little mason jars filled with pudding goodness made from scratch the night before. Another surprise, because we love surprising our clients, was the cart we brought in from India. During our planning process we knew a dessert cart was a necessary item but renting one would not be cool enough. We brought in a reclaimed indian fruit cart and managed to get it on the property and rolled into place. When it was time for the bride to see the space she spotted the cart and her favorite pudding right away and it was love at first sight. The cart is now happily living in their home serving as a bar.
The Amazing Team That Brought it All Together
We could never have captured the magic of this night without the incredible vendors by our sides. Ashley Paige Photography captured our vision perfectly and brought our romance to life. Michelle of Unveiled Grace was the best assistant and floral extraordinaire I could have ever asked for. Soleil's Pizza took everyone into pizza heaven, and Holman Ranch was so great in setting up and prepping our couple's space. Mostly we thank our gorgeous couple for allowing us to run with their amazing night and never look back.
